ActiveRx, a national leader in preventative senior healthcare that focuses on the all-important connection between strength maintenance, independent living and a high quality of life, has opened its first California Active Aging Center in Torrance.

Managing director and franchise owner Dr. Deonza Thymes reports, “The award-winning ActiveRx system – founded on two decades of scientific research and evidenced-based practices – promotes to mature adults that the ‘pains of aging’ are preventable and often reversible and provides patients and members with the ability to actually choose how they age by taking control of their aging process.”

“The new Torrance center will provide patients with a full continuum of services that are designed to facilitate long-term, meaningful lifestyle changes, including professional evaluations, chronic disease prevention and management programs, specialized physical therapy and rehabilitation, and ‘strength therapy’ – ActiveRx’s signature of on-going strength training and wellness membership.”

ActiveRx first opened its doors in 2008. “We’re helping older adults choose how they age,” said Matt Essex, M.S., CCN, founder and CEO of ActiveRx. The company now has nine clinics operating in five states. Thymes said she hopes to own and operate three or four Active Aging Centers in the greater Los Angeles area within the next couple of years.

ActiveRx is contracted with Medicare, with most of its healthcare services covered by Medicare and other PPO insurance program, according to Thymes.
ActiveRx is located at 3858 Carson Street, Suite 121, Torrance. For more information, call 310- 543-9333 or visit ActiveRx.com.
